Mui-Joo Wee

Mui-Joo Wee was born and raised in Singapore and received her higher education in the United States in the field of Social Work. She started painting later in life, practicing and feeling her way with Chinese ink, rice paper, watercolor, pastel, pencil, gel pen, and other mediums. For her, the creative process is inspiring when the art comes from the heart. In her paintings, whether it is a tree, a rock, or a mountain, the subject becomes alive with a distinct personality. Often, the result is accidental which makes it all the more joyous. Her free and loose style conveys movement and energy, and an impression of the spiritual essence in the ordinary.
